The MAX204CPE is a quad driver/receiver IC that provides four independent RS-232 drivers and receivers in a single 16-pin DIP package. It is designed to interface digital logic to RS-232 communications ports and can operate from a single 5V power supply. The device incorporates charge pump circuitry to generate the ±10V required for RS-232 communications from the 5V supply.
