Solidigm launches new D7 series ultra high speed product

Recently, SolidigmTM D7-Ps1010 and D7-Ps1030, the world's leading provider of innovative NAND flash memory solutions, have officially launched two data center solid-state storage drives (SSDs). As ultra fast PCIe 5.0 SSDs being shipped in bulk, these two high-performance solid-state drives are designed to meet the IO intensity requirements of modern mainstream, hybrid, and write based workloads.

Greg Matson, Vice President of Strategic Planning and Marketing at Solidigm, stated, "Through ingenious design, Solidigm D7-Ps1010 and D7-Ps1030 are designed to meet the increasingly demanding IO requirements of a range of workloads, including general-purpose servers, OLTP, server based storage, decision support systems, and artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML). In the face of increasingly severe energy consumption issues, these two solid-state drives support PCIe 5.0 interface, which can provide industry-leading quad performance and achieve up to 70% energy efficiency improvement compared to similar solid-state drives in the industry

D7-PS1010

As a standard durability (SE) solid-state drive, SolidigmD7-PS1010 comes in four capacities: 1.92TB, 3.84TB, 7.68TB, and 15.36TB. Over the course of five years, this standard durable solid-state drive can perform a full disk write per day (DWDP) and has excellent erase cycles, with a write capacity of up to 28PBW for the 15.36TB version. In server based storage solutions, compared to other solid-state drives of the same specifications in the industry, D7-PS1010 can achieve a maximum throughput increase of 37% for sequential writes. D7-Ps1010 achieves a balance between performance and capacity, making it an ideal choice for different mainstream applications.

D7-PS1030

Solidigm D7-Ps1030 is a medium durability (ME) solid-state drive that offers four capacities: 1.6TB, 3.2TB, 6.4TB, and 12.8TB, with a write capacity of up to 70 PBW for 12.8TB. When placed in the full flash performance layer of AI workloads, D7-Ps1030 can overcome the "shortcomings" of fully mechanical hard drives (HDDs) in terms of performance, durability, and reliability. With write performance twice as high as the previous generation SolidIgM solid-state drive, D7-Ps1030 is particularly suitable for write intensive applications such as caching and checkpoints.

These two new solid-state drives perform well in various stages of the AI data pipeline and provide throughput improvements of up to 50% compared to similar solid-state drives in certain stages. Solidigm D7-Ps1010 and D7-Ps1030 can serve as direct cache drives in GPU servers or support lower performance HDDs in the all flash high-performance layer.

With the surge in AI workloads, storage performance is becoming crucial, "said Ace Stryker, Director of Market Development at Solidigm." Solidigm D7-Ps1010 and D7-Ps1030 have brought revolutionary changes to AI driven enterprises, demonstrating outstanding performance in key areas of AI data processing

The launch of this new product demonstrates Solidigm's relentless pursuit of providing industry-leading quality and reliability products and technologies. These two new solid-state drives significantly exceed industry standards and general practices by implementing zero error data detection, built-in redundancy design, enhanced power failure management strategies, and engineering design for performance stability throughout the entire lifecycle. Combining new OCP compliant thermal management features, as well as a range of innovative security features including secure boot, static data protection, and authentication, the D7-P10100 and D7-Ps1030 solid-state drives can be deployed in various cloud and enterprise applications, providing reliable and powerful support.
