SK Hynix has developed high-performance solid-state drives suitable for data centers
SK Hynix announced on September 11th that the company has developed a high-performance solid-state drive (SSD) product called PEB110 E1. S (PEB110) suitable for data centers.
SK Hynix stated, "With the comprehensive arrival of the AI era, not only are ultra high speed DRAM products such as HBM, but customers' demand for high-performance NAND flash memory solutions such as SSDs suitable for data centers is also increasing. In order to comply with this trend, the company has developed a new product that uses fifth generation PCIe (Gen5) and can significantly improve data processing speed and energy efficiency, and has pushed it to the market
Previously, SK Hynix had developed and mass-produced the ultra-high performance product PS1010 *, hoping to create a strong lineup of solid-state drive products by developing PEB110 products to meet diversified customer needs.
The company is currently conducting PEB110 validation with global data center customers, and plans to start mass production of the product in the second quarter of next year and supply it to the market after obtaining validation.
The fifth generation PCIe bandwidth used in this new product is twice as high as the existing fourth generation (Gen4), and the data transfer speed of PEB110 reaches 32GTs (gigabit transfer/second). As a result, the performance of PEB110 has doubled compared to the previous generation product, and the energy efficiency has increased by more than 30%.

SK Hynix has developed three capacity versions for this product: 2TB (terabyte), 4TB, and 8TB, and supports OCP * 2.5 version to improve global data center compatibility.
