SK empulse sells two semiconductor materials businesses to Chinese companies
SK enpulse, a subsidiary of SKC Semiconductor Raw Materials, announced on September 13th that it will sell its wet chemical business currently operating in China to Jiangsu Yake Technology Co., Ltd.'s subsidiary Yake Semiconductor, and sell its cleaning business to investment expert Beijing Yisheng Precision Semiconductor Co., Ltd. (referred to as "Yisheng Precision").
It is reported that the sale includes 75% equity in the wet chemical business and 90% equity in the cleaning business, with a total amount of approximately 880 billion Korean won. After the board meeting on September 12th, SK enpulse signed stock purchase agreements (SPAs) with Yake Technology and Yisheng Precision, respectively.
Yake Technology is a listed company engaged in the business of special gases and photoresists for semiconductors and displays. Yisheng Precision is an enterprise that invests in semiconductor processing equipment and components.
Earlier this year, SKC integrated its semiconductor materials and components business into SK enpulse and is expanding its high value-added materials business for semiconductor front-end processes, including CMP pads and blank masks. In addition, the company plans to enter the semiconductor back-end business.
