SIA: In July, China's semiconductor sales increased by 2.6% on a monthly basis and decreased by 18.7% annually

On September 6th, the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) of the United States reported that the global semiconductor industry's total sales in July 2023 were $43.2 billion, an increase of 2.3% from $42.2 billion in June 2023, but a decrease of 11.8% from $49 billion in July 2022.

From a regional perspective, monthly sales in the Americas (6.3%), China (2.6%), Europe (0.5%), and Asia Pacific/all other regions (0.3%) have all increased, but Japan (-1.0%) has slightly decreased. Year-on-year sales in Europe increased by 5.9%, but decreased in Japan (-4.3%), the Americas (-7.1%), Asia Pacific/Other regions (-16.2%), and China (-18.7%).

SIA President and CEO John Neuffer said, "The global semiconductor market has experienced mild and stable monthly growth this year, with sales increasing for the fourth consecutive month in July. Compared to last year, global sales are still declining, but the year-on-year decrease in July is the smallest so far this year, which gives people reason to be optimistic about the rest of 2023 and beyond
