Q3 Global Smartphone Processor Competition: High end AI SoC Leads Value Growth

According to the latest data from Canalys, the competitive landscape of the smartphone processor market is showing some significant changes in the third quarter of 2024.

Apple continues to maintain its leading position in the revenue share of the smartphone processor market, accounting for 41% of the entire market value. This achievement is attributed to Apple's strong brand influence and the sustained hot sales of its high-end smartphones.

MediaTek continued to consolidate its leading position in the smartphone processor market this quarter, ranking first with a shipment volume of 119.3 million units and a market share of 38%. MediaTek's success is attributed to its strong performance in the mid to low end market and continuous focus on cost-effectiveness.

HiSilicon Technology has become the fastest-growing smartphone processor manufacturer this quarter, with a staggering year-on-year growth rate of 211%. This significant growth is mainly attributed to the widespread adoption of Kirin SoC in Huawei's mid-range smartphone product line, which greatly drives HiSilicon's shipment volume.

In terms of value, flagship AI smartphone SoCs continue to dominate the market. In the third quarter, based on smartphone shipment revenue, the top three processor models were all flagship AI smartphone SoCs, jointly creating up to $54 billion in smartphone shipment revenue. This indicates that the demand for high-performance processors in the high-end market remains strong.

Overall, the competition in the smartphone processor market remains fierce in the third quarter of 2024, with major manufacturers demonstrating strong competitiveness in technological innovation and market expansion. With the continuous advancement of technology and the increasing demand from consumers, it is expected that the competitive landscape of this market will continue to evolve.
