MediaTek's revenue in July climbed to NT $45.61 billion, a year-on-year increase of 43.59%

MediaTek announced that its revenue for July reached NT $45.61 billion, a monthly increase of 5.84%, a significant increase of 43.59% compared to the same period last year, setting a new high for the same period in previous years; Accumulated revenue for the first seven months was NT $306.339 billion, an increase of 35.82% compared to the same period last year.

MediaTek expects that the revenue of its three major product lines, namely mobile phones, smart devices, and power management chips, will remain slightly unchanged in the third quarter, with quarterly revenue ranging from NT $123.5 billion to NT $132.4 billion. It is estimated that the revenue will decrease by 3% to increase by 4% compared to the second quarter.

According to legal estimates, MediaTek's revenue for August and September will be around NT $39 billion to NT $43.4 billion. The demand for 4G SoC in emerging markets increased in the third quarter, slowing down the decline in demand for 5G SoC.

MediaTek expects customers to still consume some inventory in the third quarter, but the inventory level is relatively healthy. In the second half of the year, the company will gradually return to a normal seasonal pattern, and the fourth quarter will mainly depend on the demand for consumer products.

MediaTek stated that the flagship chip Dimensity 9400, which uses 3nm, is expected to be launched in October this year. It is expected that the revenue of the flagship product will grow by more than 50% in 2024, and the annual US dollar revenue target will increase by about 14% to 16%. It is estimated that the annual shipment volume of smartphones will reach low single digit growth, and the penetration rate of 5G will remain stable at over 60%.
