Lenovo ThinkPad X1 new notebook released: equipped with Lunar Lake chip, supports AI function

Lenovo showcased some upcoming devices at the Tech World 2024 conference in Seattle, including the ThinkPad X1 2-in-1 10th generation Aura edition. This next-generation convertible laptop is equipped with an Intel Core Ultra 200V (codenamed Lunar Lake) processor, and both hardware configuration and software have been upgraded. As it can also be used as a tablet, the touch screen, as well as the brand new stylus and 360 degree hinge, come in handy.

In terms of hardware, Lenovo offers three different display screens, with the highest specification being a 2.8K OLED 14 inch 120Hz touch screen. Other core components include up to 32GB LPDDR5X-8533 RAM and up to 2TB PCIe 5.0 NVMe storage. It is worth noting that the 57Whr battery can be replaced by customers and has a battery life of up to 18 hours. The company claims that its Lenovo AI Now feature can minimize battery consumption and optimize performance.

Lenovo has configured sufficient input/output interfaces, including 2 Thunderbolt 4 and 2 USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports. In terms of video output, it has one HDMI 2.1 port and one 3.5mm audio jack. Lenovo installed it in an aluminum alloy chassis, weighing 1.3 kilograms and measuring 312 x 217 x 18 millimeters.

Lenovo considered artificial intelligence (AI) - Microsoft Copilot+(requiring 40 TOPS NPUs) and Lenovo's own AI application "Lenovo AI Now" when promoting this 2-in-1 product. In addition to being compatible with Windows 11 Home and Windows 11 Pro, Lenovo has also confirmed support for Linux systems.

Lenovo did not mention which Intel 200V series CPU will be used, speculating that it is likely a CPU that supports up to 32GB LPDDR5X-8533- Core Ultra 5 228V and 238V, Ultra 7 258V and 268V, and Ultra 9 288V. All NPU computing power of Lunar Lake is expected to be between 40-48 TOPS, therefore, all of them are compatible with Microsoft Copilot+.

Regardless of the specifications and materials used for the chassis, ThinkPad always adheres to a lightweight and durable design. However, with the deployment of Microsoft Copilot and Lenovo AI Now, their performance in executing AI tasks will be more noteworthy than the 200V series. Microsoft will launch Copilot+feature from the end of November.

The 10th generation Aura version of the ThinkPad X1 2-in-1 is expensive, with a retail price starting at $2199.
