JPR Report: Global GPU Market Nearly $100 Billion by 2024

With the rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI) and supercomputing technology, graphics processing units (GPUs) have become an important component of the global technology industry. According to the latest report from Jon Peddie Research (JPR), the global GPU market is expected to exceed $98.5 billion by 2024, demonstrating strong growth momentum.

The application range of GPU is very wide, from daily personal computers and game consoles to advanced AI and supercomputer workloads, GPU is ubiquitous. The price of high-end GPUs can be as high as $10000 to $30000, or even higher, leading to continuous revenue growth for GPU developers.

Currently, there are 20 companies and 7 IP vendors worldwide developing discrete, integrated, and embedded GPUs, with the majority being entry-level integrated GPUs and only a few focusing on developing independent high-end GPUs for gamers.

Although the annual sales volume of AI and high-performance computing (HPC) GPUs is only a few million units, their high selling prices bring in billions of dollars in revenue for NDA-US and billions of dollars for AMD. In the two quarters of fiscal year 2025, Huida earned $42 billion from its AI and high-performance computing GPUs; And the annual sales of its computing GPU may exceed 90 billion US dollars. AMD expects its AI GPU sales to exceed $3 billion.

JPR pointed out that "GPUs are ubiquitous and can be found in almost all industrial, scientific, commercial, and consumer products today." Although the market size of AI GPUs is relatively small, they have become the focus of the market due to their rapid growth and high average selling price (ASP). However, compared to other niche markets, the sales volume of AI GPUs is relatively low.

With the intensification of global technological competition, the development of the GPU market will continue to receive attention. The surge in demand for high-end GPUs is driving the global market to new heights. The industry generally expects that with the continuous advancement of technology and the expansion of application fields, the GPU market will usher in a more prosperous future.
