Institution: Ningde Times dominates the global electric vehicle battery market, with a share of 36.8% in the first three quarters

On November 7th, market research company SNE Research pointed out in a report that in the first three quarters of this year, Ningde Times held the top spot in the global electric vehicle battery market, with a share of 36.8%, making it the only global battery supplier with a share exceeding 30%. The second largest player is BYD, with a share of 15.8%.


Ningde Times has disclosed that battery sales in the third quarter were nearly 100GWh, with an increase compared to the second quarter, and energy storage accounted for nearly 20%. At present, the capacity utilization rate has increased to around 70% compared to the first half of the year, which is at a high level in the industry. In terms of overseas business, the Ningde Times German factory has already been put into operation; The planned production capacity of the Hungarian factory is 100GWh, and the first phase of the factory has started construction and is expected to be completed in about 2 years.

SNE Research stated, "Ningde Times has achieved nearly double year-on-year growth on all continents except China. As its OEM batteries enter many of the world's leading electric vehicles, this Chinese battery manufacturer continues to grow rapidly

In terms of Korean manufacturers, LG Energy Solutions ranks third with a 14.3% market share. SK on and Samsung SDI ranked fifth and seventh with a share of 5.1% and 4.5%, respectively. In addition, Panasonic, ranked fourth (7.0%), is the only Japanese company to enter the top 10.
