INNOLUX negotiates with Vedanta, India to collaborate on the construction of a display panel factory

INNOLUX Optoelectronics executives recently visited India and met with Rajeev Chandrasekhar, the Indian Minister of Electronics and Technology, and Vedanta Group. INNOLUX and Vedanta are in talks to establish a display panel factory.

Chandrashek posted on the X platform stating that YJ Chen, President of Vedanta's Display Business Unit, met with Yang Zhuxiang, General Manager of INNOLUX Optoelectronics, and Wang Zhichao, Director, to discuss the vision and goals of local display manufacturing in India. India hopes to achieve self-sufficiency in the electronic manufacturing industry.

Vedanta Group's previous main business was mining, and in recent years, it has attempted to expand its business into the semiconductor and display fields. This year, it discussed a joint venture with Hon Hai to establish a display panel factory, but the plan fell through in July. There are reports that Vedanta will soon seek cooperation with INNOLUX. In addition, after the collapse of its partnership with Vedanta, Hon Hai also sought other partners in India.
