Infineon announces restructuring of its sales and marketing organization, effective March 1st
On February 28th, Infineon announced the restructuring of its sales and marketing organization. Starting from March 1st, Infineon's sales team will be organized and rebuilt around three customer-centric business areas: "automotive business", "industrial and infrastructure business", and "consumer, computing, and communication business". The distributor and electronic manufacturing service management (DEM) sales organization will continue to be responsible for the distributor and electronic manufacturing service (EMS) field.
Infineon points out that a concise restructuring approach will help customers more easily access Infineon's complete product portfolio and meet their specific needs by providing complementary products from different business units. In addition, this restructuring will reduce the number of interfaces for Infineon customers, which will help shorten the time to market for research and development projects supported by Infineon semiconductors and solutions.
Andreas Urschitz, Chief Marketing Officer of Infineon Technologies, said, "Influenced by the speed of innovation and faster time to market, customer expectations have also rapidly evolved. Infineon is an ideal choice to help customers achieve success by simplifying customer interfaces and bringing relevant product and application expertise to the client side."
It is reported that Infineon CEO Jochen Hanebeck recently stated that the company is relying on the booming development of artificial intelligence (AI) to generate billions of dollars in revenue and drive future growth by selling higher priced chips.
In the fiscal year 2022/2023, Infineon announced record breaking performance, but due to global economic weakness, it reduced its target for the fiscal year 2023/2024. Due to the general decline in semiconductor demand from industrial customers, Infineon has adjusted its revenue forecast for this year to 15.5 billion to 16.5 billion euros, lower than the previous expectation of 16.5 billion to 17.5 billion euros. The average expected revenue data for overseas analysts is approximately 16.8 billion euros.
