Lluka Resources Ltd. has become the second Australian rare earth miner in recent months to suffer from cyber attacks, despite hackers failing to break through their cybersecurity measures.

According to a statement from the company, the service attack is aimed at disrupting the external website of lluka. However, the company stated that "our internal systems have not been penetrated, so there are no data loss or privacy issues.".
Last week, another Australian rare earth producer, Northern Minerals Ltd., stated that some of its data had been posted on the "dark web" several months after the company discovered that its cybersecurity measures had been compromised.
Northern Minerals stated at the time that these data "include company, operational, and financial information, as well as detailed information related to current and former personnel, as well as some shareholder information.".
Earlier in June this year, Australia ordered a Chinese fund and its affiliated companies to sell their shares in Northern Minerals, one of the measures taken by US allies to counter China's dominant position in key mineral sectors.
