Asus Q3's net profit after tax increased by 329% to NT $11 billion
On November 13th, Asus announced its financial report for the third quarter of 2023, with revenue of NT $126.236 billion (the same unit below), a quarterly increase of 17% and a year-on-year decrease of 5%; The gross profit margin was 17.4%, and the profit margin was 6.7%, both of which showed an increase; After tax net profit was 11.097 billion yuan, a significant increase of 329% month on month and a year-on-year increase of 79%. In addition, earnings per share were 14.9 yuan.
In terms of revenue share, PC business accounts for 67%, components account for 32%, and mobile phones account for 1%. Compared to the same period last year, the proportion of PC business revenue has decreased.
The Chief Financial Officer of Asus stated that after adjusting inventory to normal levels in the first half of this year, it accelerated the introduction of new products and promoted product innovation cycles in the third quarter, leading to significant growth in gross profit margin in the third quarter. Looking ahead to the fourth quarter, it is estimated that PC product revenue will decrease by 15% and component product revenue will increase by 5% due to the "weak peak season" and fluctuating demand in major regional markets such as Asia and the Americas.
Asus believes that despite changes in market demand, the PC industry is still in an upward trend of volatility. In 2024, AI PC will be an important and continuous product line, in which Asus will play an important role. At present, it is still a transitional period in the market, and it is estimated that there will be slight downward fluctuations in the fourth quarter.
