ASML encountered a global IT outage, which has now been resolved

A spokesperson for ASML, a Dutch semiconductor equipment manufacturer, stated that the company experienced a global IT system malfunction on the morning of November 8th and was resolved in the late afternoon.


All systems have been fully restored, "the company said, adding that it is currently investigating the cause of the power outage.

According to media reports, this malfunction has caused some employees to work remotely, affecting the company's cleanroom, office, customer support department, and communication with suppliers.

ASML is the world's only manufacturer of cutting-edge lithography machines, and the world's largest semiconductor companies rely on ASML's equipment to produce the most advanced chips that power Apple's smartphones, Nvidia's artificial intelligence (AI) accelerators, and more.

On October 15th, ASML released its financial report for the third quarter of 2024. According to the financial report, in the third quarter of 2024, ASML achieved net sales of 7.5 billion euros, a gross profit margin of 50.8%, and a net profit of 2.1 billion euros. The new order amount for the third quarter of this year was 2.6 billion euros, of which 1.4 billion euros were EUV lithography machine orders. ASML expects net sales in the fourth quarter of 2024 to be between 8.8 billion and 9.2 billion euros, with a gross profit margin ranging from 49% to 50%. The net sales for the full year of 2024 are approximately 280 euros. ASML also expects net sales to be between 30 billion and 35 billion euros in 2025, with a gross profit margin ranging from 51% to 53%.
