Apple is developing its own AI chips for data centers

Apple has been developing a self-designed chip for running artificial intelligence (AI) tools in data centers, but it is currently unclear whether the chip will be deployed.

According to insiders, this effort will be based on Apple's previous manufacturing of internal chips, which run on Apple's iPhone, Mac, and other devices. It is reported that the internal code of the new Apple server project is ACDC, which is the Apple Chips in Data Center.

According to insiders, Apple has been closely collaborating with TSMC, which produces chips for it, to design and drive the production of such chips, but it is currently unclear whether clear results have been achieved.

Apple has been catching up with its technological peers in the field of generative artificial intelligence, which is the foundational technology for chatbots and other popular new tools. But the company is preparing to announce a new artificial intelligence strategy at the WWDC Global Developers Conference in June.

Apple is expected to focus on new proactive features that can help users with their daily lives. Apple has also negotiated with potential partners such as Google and OpenAl under Alphabet to provide generative artificial intelligence services.

If Apple continues to launch its own server chips, it will follow the approach of several of the largest technology companies. Amazon AWS, Google, Microsoft, and Meta all operate data centers that use internally designed chips to a certain extent. These efforts have weakened the traditional dominance of Intel components.
