After the PC department, the Asus commercial department has also been laid off

Asus conducted organizational restructuring in June 2023, conveying internal information to employees and integrating business. According to the Science and Technology News, although Asustek has repeatedly stressed that it is not a layoff, it slashed employees in the PC department in July. The affected employees include teams in Suzhou and Taiwan, China. In July, Asus employees revealed that many employees in the Asus PC department were transferred to the server department, but had to accept unreasonable conditions such as demotion and salary cuts. Employees who have not successfully transferred their departments will be eligible to retire from their positions starting from July 28th.

According to insiders, the pace of layoffs at Asus has not slowed down as a result. "On August 25th, some units in the commercial department were called downstairs as a whole, and units including engineers and procurement were directly cut in half

According to an internal letter from Asus, the commercial team plans to merge into the mobile product department. According to insiders, it was only employees who merged into the mobile phone department, but were ultimately laid off. Originally, Asus announced to the public that after the organizational restructuring, the human resources department would integrate positions internally, but in reality, it did not proactively adjust personnel, and employees needed to find job vacancies on their own.

As for why have employees been merged into the mobile phone department and subsequently laid off? The person familiar with the matter pointed out that the Asus mobile atmosphere ROG and Zenfone series are two, but the Zenfone 10 will be the last generation model in the series, and the product team will be merged into other departments or directly into the ROG team in the future.

Taiwanese media have learned that Asus' commercial department employees who have been laid off this round will work until next month.
